Man Claims He Was Fired From Job Because His Farts Smelled So Bad

We’ve heard of some bizarre reasons for employees losing their jobs but this one trumps them all!

According to Rich Clem’s wife, he was actually sacked from his job at a meat wholesaler because his excessive and pungent flatulence was resulting in complaints from visitors.

Case Pork Roll Co president Thomas Dolan apparently complained about the smell because it was taking over the entire office and overpowering the aroma of their company’s meat product. That’s some powerful farts, to be fair!

Still, if you’re thinking that Rich’s dismissal seems pretty harsh, you’re not the only one. His wife, Louann, has now filed an unfair dismissal lawsuit against the company claiming Dolan treated Rich unfairly, harassed him, complained about the smell, and even ordered him to work from home because of the strong aroma.

Rich had reportedly undergone gastric bypass surgery which resulted in the unfortunate side effects of gas and diarrhoea.

In the lawsuit, Dolan is claimed to have said:

We have to do something about Rich, this can’t go on. We can’t run an office and have visitors with the odour in the office. Tell Rich we’re getting complaints from visitors who have problems with the odours.

Dolan also allegedly asked what was causing the side effects, and whether the doctor’s recommendations were being properly adhered to.

However, the business owner has since denied the couple’s claims and said Rich was actually not fired at all, instead leaving of his own accord. The plot thickens…

According to MyCentralJersey.com, Tom Grieb said:

Business wasn’t good. They didn’t want to take a pay cut and walked out. Neither one were fired. They are just saying that.

Rich’s EEOC complaint is still pending. Will the judge smell a rat and dismiss their case?
