YahooOne man from Kentucky shot down a drone that was spying on his 16 year old daughter while she was sunbathing by their pool.
According to William Meredith, the drone was ‘hovering’ over his daughter, after being over his neighbour’s property, so he went inside, fetched his shotgun and downed the $1,800 drone, and when the pilot of the drone, David Boggs, arrived at his house with friends, the 47 year old told them that there would be more shootings if they stepped onto his property.
He claimed:
Well, I came out and it was down by the neighbor’s house, about 10 feet off the ground, looking under their canopy that they’ve got under their back yard. I went and got my shotgun and I said, ‘I’m not going to do anything unless it’s directly over my property
Daily Dot Obviously damaging someone’s property and threatening them with a gun isn’t exactly ideal, but I mean, for me, if that was my 16 year old kid being spied on by a drone, and I had a gun in my hands, I would probably do exactly the same.
Meredith has been charged with first-degree criminal mischief and first-degree wanton endangerment, but is confident the charges will be dropped, and frankly, I would expect nothing less, and despite the pilot of the drone claiming that he was just trying to film a friend’s home, hovering over a kid who is sunbathing is going too far.
Far too far.
