YouTubeThere are some things in life that just have to be seen to be believed. A man running round in a chimp suit in Tokyo Zoo is one of them.
Before we get to the nitty-gritty, ask yourself this – is there anything more demoralising than being dressed up as an ape and forced to run around a zoo while people laugh and chase you and corner you before finally shooting you with a tranquiliser dart? A painful end to your mock-filled miserable existence.
I don’t know – but there can’t be much in life that’s more humiliating. It’s a bestial nightmare.
YouTubeAccording to Japankyo, the weird and bizarre spectacle took place on Tuesday at the Tama Zoological Park in the city of Hino in Tokyo and no, it wasn’t a social crazed experiment, but a training exercise used to simulate a situation in which a chimpanzee had escaped from a zoo due to a hypothetical earthquake.
Over 100 people took part in the training exercise, including police and firefighters, all desperately chasing the chimp-man round.
Although it sounds rather humorous, everybody in the drill took their roles incredibly seriously, even the chimp who was spotted itching himself like a maniac and carrying round a branch. Classic chimp.
Finally, the chimp was cornered in the west side of the park where participants took him down with a brutal tranquiliser dart.
The chimp was no more – and you can see the entire thing unfold down below.
I think I’m in the wrong job.
