Each year the award for worst Christmas gift ever goes to the cheapest Lynx gift set on the market but somehow millions are still sold.
No one likes opening up their present and seeing that distinctive Lynx Africa logo, which is just what happened to Steven Manson on December 1.
However, rather than just groan and accept the gift, the 21-year-old from Paisley, Scotland, completely flipped out at his partner resulting in him spending Christmas behind bars.
At the start of the festive month after asking his partner Nicola Armstrong what he was getting for Christmas, he discovered that his gift was a £2 Lynx set.
Not exactly happy with this, Manson shouted at her ‘Is that all I am worth?’ before losing the plot and smashing the kitchen door into pieces.
After a trial yesterday at Paisley Sheriff Court, Manson was cleared of assaulting his partner by pinning her down and a charge of putting his partner into a state of fear and alarm.
He was found guilty of doing damage to the kitchen door which he had punched a hole in and was ordered to pay £100 compensation.
As reported by The Daily Record, the court heard how cleaner Manson was staying at his partner’s flat when he flipped out after an argument started between the couple in the bedroom.
Ms Armstrong told the court:
He came over to the house and we had an argument. I had been out Christmas shopping. I had bought him a Lynx set. He wasn’t happy about it.
He said, ‘Is that all I am worth?’
It cost £2 and was only something I had picked up. I would have got him something better. But the Lynx set came back up again and the argument escalated from there.
He was really angry with me. He was jumping about waving his arms. I pushed him away.
After Manson punched the door Armstrong rang the police and reported him while he proceeded to kick her veranda door while he waited for a taxi to arrive to take him home.

Manson also gave evidence to the court describing how the argument started:
She told me: ‘I have picked you up a Lynx set’.
I asked her, ‘What else are you getting me?’. She said, ‘What else am I getting you! You ungrateful b******. You know I’m going to get you more than that’.
I went to give her a cuddle and she pushed me away. It all started from there.
Having spent 30 days in custody over Christmas and New Year, Manson’s defence argued that this was equivalent to a two-month prison sentence.
Manson was acquitted after witness Shona White was unable to identify the accused in court.
She had told the trial that she had heard a ‘male voice’ shouting from outside the flat for about 10 to 15 minutes.
I think his family and friends will be avoiding Lynx in the future though.
