Four people have been injured, three seriously, after a car smashed into the side of a house, through to the living room.
At about 1.20am this morning a white Volkswagen Golf crashed into a property in York injuring the driver, two passengers and a man sitting on the sofa in his lounge.
Once the car crashed into the house on Morehall Close in the Clifton Moor area, it caught fire and caused significant damage.
Sgt Cording told Minster FM:
We’ve seen cars go into houses before but this one’s literally gone right into the house.
It’s astounding that nobody has lost their life in this incident.
The man who was sitting in the lounge suffered lower limb injuries but his wife and younger child managed to escape uninjured.
All the people inside the car suffered head injuries and have been taken to hospital.
A man in his 20s, believed to be the driver, has been arrested.
