PAPolice believe they have found the ‘bomb factory’ where the Manchester terror attacker made the explosives which took the lives of 22 people and injured 102 more.
Greater Manchester Police officers raided a high-rise block of council flats, where Salman Abedi, 22, had been sub-letting a twelfth floor apartment in Somerton Court, Blackley, Manchester, in the lead up to the attack.
The Wednesday evening raid was a result of a tip off from the terrorist’s former landlord, Aiman al-Wafi, who recognised his former tenant’s name in the news and claimed a ‘strong smell of chemicals’ was left behind when Abedi suddenly left the property for Libya last month, reports Daily Mail.

Chief Constable Ian Hopkins of Greater Manchester Police said:
It has been a challenging week and we are still in the middle of a live investigation. Eight people are in custody aged between 18 and 38.
There are still 12 locations that are being searched and activity will continue throughout the weekend. The cordon remains around Manchester Arena.
PAHe reassured the public, saying:
We have hundreds of officers that are working on this investigation from across the national counter terrorism policing network and we have seized thousands of exhibits that are now being assessed.
