Greater Manchester Police have released a statement urging the public to stay away from the city centre following last night’s harrowing terror attack.
The statements requests the evacuation of the city centre in order to ‘allow emergency services to continue to work at the scene of last night’s incident’.

A 23-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the suicide bomb attack at Manchester Arena that left 22 people dead and 59 injured.
The explosion at The Manchester Arena is being treated as a suspected terror attack following police confirmation of fatalities, while authorities also conducted the controlled explosion of another object found close by.
With regards to last night’s incident at the Manchester arena, we can confirm we have arrested a 23-year-old man in South Manchester.

The explosion took place at an Ariana Grande concert as it drew to a close.
Since then the Manchester Arndale shopping centre was evacuated and a man was arrested, but the police confirmed that this incident was separate to last night’s.
