According to the Leicester Mercury, fourth year medical student Ravindu Thilakawardhana lost his cool when explicit images of his friend began to circulate on the social networking site.

After pinpointing the original poster of the pics, Mr Thilakawardhana posted an image of Neeson alongside the quote “I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you” from the movie Taken.

Mr Thilakawardhana then followed up with a private message allegedly saying, “I don’t want to see you on a night out in Leicester, or in the UK.”

After the other student reported the messages, the University dropped him from the medical course, with a disciplinary panel deeming him “unfit to practice medicine.”

Mr Thilakawardhana appealed the panel’s decision, with his lawyer, Clive Newton QC, claiming that the decision was too harsh. He believed the pictures were posted as part of “carefully planned revenge” by “targeting [Mr Thilakawardhana’s] future medical career.”

The University’s decision has been upheld by a judge, stating that he is “fundamentally incompatible with continuing on a medical course or even practicing as a doctor.”
