Despite progressing to the next round of Wimbledon after beating world number 47, Coco Vandeweghe, Maria Sharapova came under more scrutiny for her grunting when hitting the ball than the level at which she actually performed.
Despite losing the second set, people didn’t seem too keen on analysing her performance, more her screams, with Twitter going into meltdown.
At her loudest, the grand slam winner has reached 101 decibels, which is also the level of noise that is made by an aeroplane landing, a pneumatic drill and a speeding train.
So basically next time you watch Sharapova, either take some earplugs or use the mute button.
