In exciting news, Wesley Snipes has confirmed he’s held talks with Marvel to potentially reprise his role in a new ‘Blade’ movie.

Believe it or not, it’s been 17 years since Snipes starred in the first vampire superhero action film, Blade, which is often credited with bringing back superhero movies from the brink of disaster.

The original spawned two sequels – ‘Blade II’ and ‘Blade: Trinity’ – but since then Snipes has had a bit of a mare. He was sentenced to three years in prison in April 2008 on charges of tax evasion, gave himself in in 2010 and was released in 2013.

Since his release, his acting roles have been few and far between, but now the 52-year-old may return to the spotlight to once again play the half-vampire, vampire hunter on the big screen.

In an interview with Deadline about his upcoming NBC series The Player, Snipes revealed the exciting news about a possible ‘Blade 4’.

He said:

The project is controlled by Marvel and we did have a really productive and a wonderful meeting and we discussed a number of things. I don’t know where it’s on their schedule at this point, that hasn’t been decided. I guess it’s still up in the air.

I’ve always been a fan of these pieces and adaptations and it’d be nice to be a part of the family again. But if we don’t to a ‘Blade 4’ or something else with Marvel, we’ll do something else.

Exciting stuff. And, if the movie doesn’t come to fruition, we’d like to throw our support behind a Blade miniseries on Netflix. Make it happen, Marvel!
