Poking fun at its biggest rival, Burger King yesterday gave McDonald’s a Halloween makeover – and it was savage.

The restaurant in Queens was covered by a sheet with the word ‘McDonald’s’ spray painted on it. A sign read: “Just kidding, we still flame grill our burgers.” McDonald’s fries its hamburgers.

After photos of the prank went viral on Twitter, the Internet fell in love with McD’s biggest rival.

And McDonald’s came up with the shittest comeback.

In a statement, a spokesman for the fast-food chain said: “Who wouldn’t want to masquerade as McDonald’s for Halloween when we are serving up treats like McCafé beverages, apple pies, and our World Famous Fries,” the Daily Star reports.

While some may say McDonald’s wins for its ‘World Famous Fries’, Burger King is definitely winning at the Twitter game.

Let’s compare McDonald’s tweets:

To Burger King’s:

When it comes to their Twitter accounts, Burger King is the cool kid at school and McDonald’s is his 50-year-old dad trying to be hip.

Saying that, McDonald’s does use its official Twitter account for some great things, like promoting the Ronald McDonald House Charity. So they win on that front.

But this isn’t the first time Burger King has pulled a stunt on good ‘ol McD’s. In 2015, the burger chain asked McDonald’s to combine efforts to create ‘The McWhopper’ in recognition of World Peace Day.

Burger King ran advertisements in the New York Times and the Chicago Tribune, and even made a website for the idea. But its effort was shot down when McDonald’s CEO Steve Easterbrook said no.

Can’t we all just get along?
