Move over Will and Kate, Harry and Meghan are now the new power couple in town.
The first photos of the happy couple have surfaced after the photo call to announce their engagement has been released. And if you look particularly closely, you can see Meghan’s flash ring glinting in the light.
Prince Harry was asked when he knew Meghan was the one he was going to marry, to which he replied: ‘the very first time we met.’
Prince Harry reportedly designed the ring, with the centre diamond hailing from Botswana, and the two outside coming from Princess Diana’s ring.
The couple took these photos at The Sunken Garden at Kensington Palace just this afternoon after announcing their engagement earlier today.
It was confirmed via Twitter by Clarence House this morning, confirming the proposal took place earlier this month after Prince Harry received permission from The Queen.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge said:
We are very excited for Harry and Meghan. It has been wonderful getting to know Meghan and to see how happy she and Harry are together.
Meghan’s parents are also extremely happy for her daughter, and wished the couple a ‘lifetime of happiness’, adding:
We are incredeibly happy for Meghan and Harry. Our daughter has always been a kind and loving person.
To see her union with Harry, who shares the same qualities, is a source of great joy for us as parents.
What is known is that the wedding will take place at some point next spring, and that there will be a television broadcast this evening giving further details.
Harry is fifth in line to the throne, but is set to slip down a spot to sixth following the birth of Will and Kate’s third child.

The official engagement announcement read:
His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales is delighted to announce the engagement of Prince Harry to Ms. Meghan Markle.
The wedding will take place in Spring 2018. Further details about the wedding day will be announced in due course.
His Royal Highness and Ms. Markle became engaged in London earlier this month. Prince Harry has also sought and received the blessing of Ms. Markle’s parents.
The couple will live in Nottingham Cottage at Kensington Palace.
We have just been told Meghan’s ring made from 3 stones: one from Botswana (where couple holidayed recently) and 2 diamonds from his mother Diana’s personal collection

Meghan won’t become a princess, contrary to popular opinion, as the title is reserved for women who are born into the Royal Family.
More likely, however, is the possibility that Prince Harry and Meghan will be awarded a dukedom as a token to celebrate the wedding.
Vogue has predicted the newlyweds will be dubbed the Duke and Duchess of Sussex after their nuptials are complete.
i used to not really get the whole royal family hype but oh my GOD did you see Meghan's RING

This has been speculated as a likely title as it hasn’t been handed to a couple in the family since 1843.
A potential bump in the road could be the fact that Meghan, an actress and humanitarian, is a divorcee.
Obviously, this isn’t the first divorcee within the royal family, with both Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles both getting divorced before they got married.
