The price of Meghan Markle’s wedding dress has been revealed and people are livid at quite how ridiculously expensive it is.
According to Insider, the dress will cost an incredible $550,000 (£394,000) which makes it $200,000 more expensive than the dress worn by Princess Kate on her big day.
Of course, the sheer self-indulgence of spending over half a million dollars on a dress which realistically, will be worn once, has upset people who think it’s a waste of money.
The outraged masses have taken to social media in their dozens to complain about the dress, with some branding the decision to buy it, ‘ridiculous’ and ‘stupid’.
One Facebooker, Emilie Gables, wrote on the site:
Absolutely ridiculous. Hope she is generous in contributing to charities. Such a waste of money.

Others, however, defended Miss Markle, arguing it’s no one’s business how much she chooses to spend on her wedding dress, especially as it’s been reported she’s paying for her own dress.
Despite this, some of the general public don’t like people choosing to spend their own money on things for some reason and have instead said it’s insensitive to be so indulgent when the country has so many homeless people on the streets.
Not quite sure why Ms Markle’s expected to solve Britain’s infrastructure problems, but hey-hum what are you going to do?
It’s also worth noting, Meghan Markle does do a lot of charity work, she was a Global Ambassador for World Vision – the world’s largest international children’s charity – from 2016 – 2017 and worked with Myna Mahila.
She’s also a huge woman’s rights activist, beginning her work when she was just 11-years-old after seeing a sexist ad on TV.
According to Harpers Bazaar, she wrote a letter to Procter & Gamble, the company responsible for the ad, as well as Hillary Clinton, Linda Ellerbee and Gloria Allred, complaining about the ad’s wording.
Procter & Gamble later changed the advert’s wording from ‘women across America’ to ‘people across America’.
All this aside, we don’t actually know much about the dress, as the designer and style will remain under wraps until after the ceremony.
