Michael Buble Breaks Down Talking About His Son Noah’s Cancer Battle

Michael Bublé emotionally recollected his son Noah’s cancer battle during a Stand Up To Cancer episode of Carpool Karaoke.

The singer, who recently announced his retirement from music, cried as he discussed the painful moment he found out, now five-year-old Noah, was diagnosed with liver hepatoblastoma two years ago, and his ‘whole world ended’.

Audiences expressed their heartbreak as Michael, 43, explained how despite the family being big Spiderman fans, he regularly tells Noah that they are fake and that he is his real hero.

In the conversation with James Corden, Michael said:

I wasn’t OK. When this all started I became the strength to somehow pull us and lift us. When they got it out and chemo was done, I just fell. My wife picks me up.

He is five years old now and I say to him Spiderman is amazing but they are fake, they are not real. You are my hero, you are my superhero.

The Canadian singer, who’s won four Grammy Awards and sold over 75 million records, has said he’ll retire following the release of one final album next month.

Wanting to concentrate on his family following his five-year-old son’s diagnosis, Bublé has said he’ll also stop doing interviews, as well come away from using social media.

Taking a two-year break as his son battled cancer, Noah has now thankfully been given the all clear.

The family also recently announced Michael’s wife, Luisana Lopilato, gave birth to their first daughter in July.

Bublé admitted he did miss music, hence his decision to return with a new album, Love, next month.

He explained how, when he learned his son was in remission, he rediscovered his passion for the art:

The two are inextricably linked, yet it wasn’t as straightforward as, ‘my son’s recovered, I should make an album’.

But I missed the guys in my band. So once, when Luisana had to go back to Argentina I said to them, ‘come over to the house, let’s drink, order pizza, play video games and jam’.

They came over, we partied and we said, ‘let’s play some music. I thought, ‘wow, this is fun’.

It was then that I realised I’d missed making music. I didn’t even know I’d missed it. This was about a year ago.

And so, Bublé began working on his next album, which will be released in November.

Following the experience though, despite his love for music, singing and performing, Bublé is unsure whether ‘the business’ is really for him, adding:

There are three reasons I wanted to do this album. One, because I felt a debt of gratitude, deeper than I can explain, to the millions of people all over the world who prayed for us and showed us compassion. That gave me faith in humanity.

Two, because I love music and feel I can continue the legacy of my idols. And three, because if the world was ending – not just my own personal hell but watching the political turmoil in America and watching Europe break up – there’s never a better time for music.

This is my last interview. I’m retiring from the business. I’ve made the perfect record and now I can leave at the very top.
