Microsoft is gearing up to kill off one of its longest standing apps, Paint, after 32 years.
I’ve not felt this betrayed since they got rid of MSN Messenger – no, I’m just kidding, I hadn’t used that since secondary school either, but I still didn’t want it to go… and I feel the same about Paint.
Long gone are the days of wasting time in IT class, making pictures and sending them over to mates – you can probably tell I wasn’t one of the cool kids!
‘Paint’ has been filed under the ‘deprecated’ column for apps that are ‘not in active development and might be removed in future releases’, according to their website, meaning it’s only a matter of time before it’s no more.
Exactly when Paint will be officially removed is yet to be confirmed, as is a date for the Windows update, so make sure you get your time in, creating whatever you can on that thing…above is the best I could do anyway.
Of course, I’m not the only one who’s sad to see it go…
Children of the future will never know the joy of spending hours doing this on Microsoft Paint #MSpaint pic.twitter.com/IY6kDxPdc4
