CBS 12Millionaire Marc Bell opened the doors of his 27,000 square foot mansion to give shelter to a large number of foster kids during Hurricane Irma.
Following the recent hurricanes, which have caused destruction across the Atlantic, there have been a number of uplifting stories about people trying to help one another through the difficult time, restoring our faith in humanity in the process – even for the most cynical person.
Being in foster care can be tough for any child, let alone when you’ve got a Category 5 hurricane to deal with, but luckily Bell, who is the former owner of Penthouse Magazine, was on hand to help when he opened up the doors of his $30 million mansion to 70 chldren.

The 70 foster kids, from the SOS Children’s Village, in Florida, were initially moved to emergency shelter during the storm and after spending five days there, once Hurricane Irma had passed, returned to their home only to find the power had gone.
With no home to go to the foster kids were in a difficult situation – cue Mr Bell – who also happens to be a board member of their foster care community.
After hearing about their predicament, he let them stay at his luxury home, telling CBS:
Today, we had manicures for the little girls.We got Bobby the balloon guy coming later to entertain them.
Yesterday during dinner, we had a singer come who plays guitar and sang songs with them.
CBS 12Bell’s mansion also has a room filled with arcade machines, a pool table and even air hockey tables, so you know those kids won’t be getting bored during their stay!
