A model who was invited to a private party hosted by Justin Bieber is claiming her drink was spiked while she was there.
New Zealand glamour girl Bailey Scarlett, who is based in Australia, claims she was ‘drifting in and out of consciousness’ after taking a sip of her vodka lemonade at the exclusive party in Melbourne, Australia.
In a Facebook post, that has now been deleted, the 18-year-old stated that after originally consoling her, Bieber told her she had caught “Bieber Fever”, before attempting to usher her out of the back door away from fans who were gathered outside.
Kate Dunham, from Melbourne, who was also invited to the party, spoke to the Daily Mail Australia about the alleged incident, saying: “She seemed friendly, I remember her joking that the only thing the place was missing was a stripper pole.”
Ms Dunham recalled the moment she became aware of the incident, continuing: “She was panicking saying she didn’t feel right and it had nothing to do with alcohol.”
However, in a turn of events, the party’s organiser claimed Bailey was just seeking publicity with the allegations, and that CCTV footage from the Melbourne studio didn’t show anyone putting anything in her drink. This was also confirmed by the owner of the studio.
Alex McDonell from Showcase PR (who organised the event), told AAP: “I guess she’s just trying to get her few minutes of fame. She started crying, she calmed down and afterwards I pretty much said, ‘look, you need to go home and sleep it off and we can always catch up another time’.”
“The next thing we know police have been called and now she’s got her name on social media and in the paper.”
McDonell went on to criticise Bailey’s decision to appear on the Nine Network’s ‘A Current Affair’ on Tuesday night, where she gave an exclusive interview about her ordeal.
According to the Mail, no official police report has yet been filed, and Bailey’s decision to remove her Facebook post came after a backlash by Bieber fans.
Bieber is currently in Australia to perform three shows.
