A woman who models her physical appearance on Barbie was left devastated after botched surgery left her lips looking like ‘raw meat’.
35-year-old mum Kerry Miles from Essex shelled out £250 for the lip filler procedure back in 2016, and – after a painful ordeal – she claims the fillers had been mixed with baby oil.
The half hour operation left her lips burnt and blistered, and it has taken the model and promoter a shocking two years to recover.
Alarms bells first went off for Kerry when she saw the beautician’s unhygienic house where the procedure was due to take place.
As reported by the Mail Online, Kerry had been tempted by the good reviews at the unnamed clinic:
I picked a reputable clinic but I had doubts as soon as I turned up.
The house was rundown and looked grubby, there was even a dog running around.
It didn’t look very hygienic but I wanted my lips done and she had good reviews.
She was mixing the filler in front of me and I’m certain she was using some sort of household oil.
I’ve never had a reaction to filler before but this was horrific.
Kerry revealed the subsequent pain prevented her from venturing outside for days. When she contacted the beautician to complain, she was simply advised to drink more fluids and massage her lips to get the correct shape.
Kerry attempted to disguise the lumpy fillers with more injections of filler, but the original concoction of substances in her lips just would not dissolve.
The true horror inside Kerry’s lips – which had inflated to twice their usual size – was finally revealed after she went to have the fillers removed.
The doctor who removed the fillers reportedly told Kerry the substance in her lips had been mixed with a substance such as baby oil.
Writing on a gruesome Instagram post which reveals the lumpy insides of her damaged lips, Kerry wrote:
Old filler removed from my top lip that has been lumpy and #botched for years and I was to scared to lose any filler but I feel so much better for no lumps that will teach me for going to someone that wasn’t qualified years ago.
I just lived with the lumps and filled over them.
Undeterred from having further lip fillers, Kerry now hopes to warn other about the importance of doing thorough research before undergoing a procedure, as reported by the Mail Online:
I wouldn’t warn people not to have lip fillers but I would say do your research.
I was left feeling so embarrassed after my ordeal and now I’m always over cautious.
I conduct background checks on everyone I book for my fillers now.
I should have trusted my instincts when the house I arrived at wasn’t clean but I learnt the hard way.
I hope others can learn from my mistakes.
Hopefully others can now learn from Kerry’s story.
