Mother ‘Spots Jesus’ In Flames Of Notre Dame Cathedral

A mum claims to have ‘spotted Jesus’ in a picture of the Notre Dame cathedral as a devastating fire tore through it.

The beautiful cathedral has stood proudly on the banks of the River Seine for over 850 years, surviving the French Revolution and both world wars.

However, as the fire broke out on Monday (April 15), Parisians and tourists alike mourned for the religious structure as it lost its famous spire and most of its roof.

The fire broke out on Monday afternoon, with the Deputy mayor of Paris, Emmanuel Gregoire, describing Notre Dame as having suffered ‘colossal damages’.

Emergency services worked hard to salvage priceless art and artifacts which were stored inside, although Notre Dame spokesperseon Andre Finot told French journalists, as per the Independent, ‘Everything is burning, nothing will remain from the frame’.

Although the spire and the roof collapsed, once firefighters had extinguished the flames, things started to look slightly more positive – with the stone structure and two iconic towers surviving.

One woman believed she saw a miracle during the fire though, claiming to see the figure of Jesus as parts of the historical landmark burned.

Lesley Rowan took to social media to share her findings, asking her friends what they saw when they looked at a particular picture of the Notre Dame fire.

She wrote:

I may be letting my mind play tricks on me here, folks take a close look at this picture and what do you see

Lesley had circled part of an image of the fire, and was soon inundated with people agreeing with her how they could see the religious figure in the flames.

As per the Daily Record, the 38-year-old, from Alexandria in West Dunbartonshire, said:

When I looked at this photo last night, I was really astounded by what I saw. When I look at it I see a silhouette of Jesus. I really see a vivid image.

I shared it and asked for people’s opinions – even my brother in Australia said it looks like Jesus. I feel like it will bring comfort to people in Paris and all over the world at this sad time.

While one person commented, ‘Looks like a figure of Jesus, or I am tripping?’, another wrote, ‘I can see it pretty clear, gown and all’.

Since the fire has been extinguished, there’s hope the cathedral will be restored to its former glory, with the people of France looking to rebuild it, while making mammoth donations.
