Last night, we reported on how a petition to ban Donald Trump from entering the UK was gaining serious traction.
And, in quite incredible news, just days after Suzanne Kelly’s e-petition went live on the parliament’s website, it has already surpassed the 100,000 signatures mark, which means MPs now have to consider debating the issue in the House of Commons.
The petition was set up on hate speech grounds in response to Trump’s call for a ban on Muslims entering the U.S., and it gained even more traction after he outrageously claimed that UK capital London is “so radicalised the police are afraid for their own lives”.
In fact, so irritated are the British people by the constant bullshit comments from the U.S. Republican / businessman / ballbag Trump, the petition has now flown past the 170,000 signatories mark, and it’s only going to keep growing.

According to the BBC, Home Secretary Theresa May can ban an individual from the UK if she considers their presence is “not conducive to the public good or if their exclusion is justified on public policy grounds”. In recent years the UK has barred entry to the American rapper Tyler the Creator and anti-mosque campaigner Pamela Geller, among others.
Earlier this week, chancellor George Osborne criticised Trump’s comments but rejected calls for him to be banned from the UK so it does seem unlikely he’ll actually be stopped from coming here.
But, hey, given that he’s already pissed off the entirety of London and the city’s mayor Boris Johnson, maybe this could yet come to pass.
And, let’s face it, the irony of a man who wants to close his own country’s borders being denied entry to another would be absolutely glorious.
Fortunately, old Trumpy isn’t planning to visit the British Isles any time soon anyway. Plus, with so much backlash from Brits towards him and his awful hairpiece, he probably won’t be too keen to show his face on our shores anytime soon, regardless of whether the petition passes in parliament or not.
