A woman has been arrested in Florida after throwing cayenne pepper into the faces of two girls who were bullying her daughter.

Simmone James, 46, threw a mixture of cayenne pepper powder and salt at two girls, aged eight and 11, leaving them in severe pain and discomfort, according to reports.

James was arrested after the incident and charged with two counts of child abuse, battery, and disruption of school functions.

The mother told police the two girls had been bullying her daughter for three months, and was forced to take matters into her own hands as she walked her daughter to school.

James approached the bullies as she was walking to school with her daughter, before saying ‘leave my daughter alone’ and throwing the powder at them, Space Coast Daily reports.

According to the elementary school’s resource officer, the girls’ eyes were extremely red and irritated, and they were shrieking in pain as they entered the school.

The school nurse helped them flush their eyes with water and rinse their faces off, before being taken to hospital as a precaution.

According to the school’s principal, James entered the school too, saying ‘take care of these kids, they did it again’ and then left.

The mother of the two girls has said she’s pressing charges against James.
