A Muslim community has raised £3,000 for the victims of the London terror attack in just one hour.

Muslims United for London started a campaign to raise money to support the families of the fallen in the London terror attack, which tore through Westminster at 2.42pm yesterday.

The as-of-yet unidentified perpetrator of the heinous crime murdered three civilians and one police officer, 48-year-old Keith Palmer, during the rampage.

At least 40 civilians have been injured, and some are still in critical condition.

The campaign was set up to raise money for their families, at this difficult time, reports the Independent.

Muslims United for London were overwhelmed within the first hour, as donations flooded in immediately.

In a statement Muslims United for London said:

The British Muslim community stands with the community during these difficult times and extends their support in raising funds to help with the immediate, short-term needs of the families of Keith Palmer, the other victims and the families of the victims.

While no amount of money will bring back lives lost or take away from the pain the victims and their families are going through, we hope to lessen their burden in some way.

Acts of generosity and solidarity in the face of hatred and evil are the only saving grace in this devastating ordeal.

Our thoughts are with the families.
