A paranormal investigator who shot to fame for exploring ghostly phenomena has been found dead in what his family are calling mysterious circumstances.
Gaurav Tiwari’s death is being investigated by police after he was discovered unconscious in his family bathroom last Thursday.
The 32-year-old, who has spent time in more than 6,000 ‘haunted’ locations, was at his home in Dwaraka, Delhi when his wife and parents reported hearing a ‘loud thud’ from inside the room. He was rushed to hospital but doctors were unable to save him.

Authorities state that the suspected cause of death was asphyxia, and a preliminary postmortem reportedly stated that a thin, dark line was found around his throat.
Just weeks before his death, Gaurav told his wife he was being ‘pulled in’ by something unknown.
His family members – who don’t believe in the paranormal – initially thought he died from falling on the bathroom floor, a possibility that’s being inspected. But they have maintained that Gaurav was happy and had no reasons to kill himself.

Gaurav’s father Uday told the Times of India that they ‘don’t believe in ghosts’ but that they are confused by the death.
He said:
Gaurav told his wife a month ago that a negative force was pulling him towards it. He had said he was trying to control it but seemed unable to do so.
My daughter-in-law ignored it thinking he was just depressed due to work overload and did not tell us about it.

According to India Today, the 32-year-old’s paranormal skills were so strong that his team relied on him completely, despite having access to high-tech equipment.
While it’s easy to dismiss Gaurav’s death as suicide, no reports have confirmed finding any trace of material that could aid Gaurav in committing suicide or explain the dark line around his neck.
