PA ImagesMembers of the far-right have praised Donald Trump’s response to the violent protests in Charlottesville between white supremacists and anti-fascists which have left three people dead.
Violence originally broke out when white-supremacists and members of the far-right clashed with anti-fascist counter-protesters at the ‘Unite the Right Rally’ which had been organised to protest the removal of a statue of Civil War Confederate General Robert E Lee.
So far one person has been killed and 33 people injured, 19 of which were hurt when a member of the alt-right rammed a car into protesters.
PA ImagesDespite pressure from both Republicans and Democrats to condemn the violence and the largest gathering of white supremacists in decades President Trump refused to decry the far-right.
Instead the President decided to condemn violence on both sides of the political spectrum.
Trump said:
We condemn in the strongest possible terms this egregious display of hatred, bigotry and violence on many sides. On many sides.

Mr Trump then refused to take any questions from reporters including accusations he wanted the support of white nationalists or if he deemed the violence terrorism.
A number of white supremacists have praised Mr Trump’s response for refusing to disavow the alt-right including the founder of the Daily Stormer, a far right website.
Its editor Andrew Anglin said:
People saying he cucked are shills and kikes. He did the opposite of cuck. He refused to even mention anything to do with us.
When reporters were screaming at him about White Nationalism he just walked out of the room.
AP PhotoOthers who praised the President’s actions include Richard Spencer, a leading white supremacist who was infamously punched at an anti-Trump protest, who believes the President was in fact condemning the anti-fascist movement.
But not all members of the far-right have praised the President’s lukewarm condemnation.
David Duke, the former head of the Ku Klux Klan went out of his way to remind the president it was the ‘White Americans’ who put Trump in power not ‘liberal radicals’.

I would recommend you take a good look in the mirror and remember it was White Americans who put you in the presidency, not radical leftists.
Fellow Republicans have also attacked President Trump for his failure to respond to the attack including the chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee Senator Cory Gardner who said: “Mr President – we must call evil by its name.”
