If you’ve ever needed clarification as to whether the programmes/films you watch are categorically loved by everyone or if they’re just a bit weird, listen up.

Netflix have , for the first time ever, released its top 10 most viewed shows on social media – categorising them by ‘reality’, ‘documentaries’, ‘series’, and more.

Which is perfect for those of you who have ever been binge-watching something on the streaming service and thought, ‘I wonder if I’m the only one watching this right now?’.

Netflix UK & Ireland tweeted earlier today (May 9) to share with their followers the top 10 most viewed films/shows/documentaries on the streaming service.

Addressing their 600K followers, Netflix said:

We want to help you find as much ~great stuff~ to watch on Netflix as possible. So here’s a look at the top ten most-watched shows and films in the UK in April

Overall, Our Planet took the top position and came first in the nation’s heart, followed by The Perfect Date and The Highwaymen. After Life and Riverdale also appeared within the top 10.

Zombie apocalypse show Black Summer topped the charts for the most watched series, while fan-favourite Brooklyn Nine-Nine came only tenth. I demand a recount.

Controversially, Santa Clarita Diet was number eight on the list, leading many fans to question why on earth it was cancelled if so many people were watching it. While one person told Netflix to ‘take the hint’, others demanded it to be brought back.

As reported by iNews, Netflix announced last month their plans to make this date public, saying they hope the data will drive higher audiences towards the dramas or documentaries watched by ‘early adopters’.

At the time Netflix made the announcement, they said publishing these lists would make choosing shows even easier.

Netflix said, as per iNews:

For those who want to watch what others are watching, this may make choosing titles even easier. After a few months we’ll decide whether to end or expand the test.

Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos added:

We’re trying to get to the place where we could be a lot more transparent both with our producers and with our customers, [who] a lot of times [are] influenced heavily by, ‘What’s the world watching?’

RuPaul’s Drag Race, Impractical Jokers, and Love Island were all in the top 10 reality shows watched in the UK – proving that I’m a basic bitch who watches what everyone else watches.

Netflix also announced they’ll be bringing us weekly top 10 lists, starting next Wednesday (May 15).

Well, guess I’ll be waiting till next week to get validation that what I’m watching is actually good. See you then, I guess.
