The legendary Amy Winehouse died six years ago today when she was just 27 – and as well as a catalogue of brilliant music, she is remembered for being a fantastic character.

Amy was unique, funny and bright and her appearance on Never Mind The Buzzcocks has to go down as one of the best in the show’s history.

The singer was on top form – cracking plenty of jokes throughout the show, which aired back in 2006.

Throughout the episode, Amy had host Simon Amstell, the other panellists and the audience in fits of laughter, as she continued to make jokes at herself and at Simon.

At one point in the show, she admitted she’d ‘rather have cat aids’ than work with singer/songwriter Katie Melua.

Amy died of alcohol poisoning on 23 July 2011 and her album Back to Black posthumously became, for some time, the UK’s best-selling album of the 21st century.

It seems I’m not the only one who regards the episode as one of the funniest in Buzzcocks history…

Always missed.
