A new app has been created that can block people’s access to websites based on their race.

The extremely questionable app is called Genetic Access Control, and would mean that in the future we could possibly see a segregated online world.

It requests access to DNA information that is stored on users computers, and could potentially block certain racial groups from accessing websites.

Luckily the likelihood of this happening would depend on certain factors that probably won’t come together.

For it to become a reality it would rely on people scanning their DNA onto genetics testing site 23andMe. Fortunately not many people have and now 23andMe have blocked their app, after discovering its potential alternative use.

But the technology is out there, which is pretty terrifying.
