After yesterday’s hit-and-miss PR stunt of live tweeting a fake terrorist attack, Activision and Treyarch have dropped an intense story trailer for the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 3.
Set 40 years after Black Ops 2 in the year 2065, the new story trailer outlines the dystopian, war-ravaged future central to the game’s make-up. As the lines between men and machines have blurred, the trailer takes a trip down Deus Ex valley, and opens up an interesting new direction for the shooter.
Your character must track down an old comrade known as John Tailer, who’s apparently gone a bit rogue and murdered a load of people in the middle of a gritty, neon-drenched war. But did he do it? Is everything as clear-cut as it seems? Will we be seeing Mecha-Price or The Soapinator making a cameo? Probably not, but we can dream.
Controversially, the story mode is only going to be available to those with current-gen consoles, and won’t feature on the Playstation 3 or Xbox 360. Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will be coming out across all platforms on November 6.
