The gameplay trailer shows off a portion of the 2007 game’s second chapter, Crew Expendable. It’s clear that this is one remaster that’s had a lot of work put into it – Modern Warfare has never looked better.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, though the only way to get it at the moment is to pick up a premium version of the sci-fi influenced Infinite Warfare, which costs around £70.

The remaster will come with Modern Warfare’s revered campaign mode, and its beloved multiplayer mode – but it’ll only include 10 multiplayer maps (the original had 17).

The confirmed maps for the remaster so far are Crash, Backlot, Crossfire, Bog, and Overgrown. Check out the extended gameplay footage below for a taste of the how the project is shaping up.

Activision subsidiary Raven Software is developing Remastered, while Infinity Ward – the team behind the original- is working on Infinite Warfare.

Infinity Ward co-founder Vince Zampella recently told Eurogamer he hopes Raven approach the project with care:

I told them–don’t fuck it up. That’s my on the record response. I rang them up and said, honestly, don’t fuck it up. It’s a huge part of people’s gaming memories.
