The Loch Ness monster is about as elusive as the talent of a Kardashian or political prowess in the upcoming Presidential election.

Still, that doesn’t stop people around the world trying to figure all this shit out, and the myth of Nessie is no different. We might be gullible but we’re a curious bunch, to say the least.

The most recent footage thought to show the Loch Ness Monster was released by the Alaskan Bureau of Land Management yesterday and, to the absolute shock and amazement of us all, it’s not at all unconvincing.

The footage has Nessie hunters convinced the Loch Ness Monster exists, and is alive and swimming.

However, a few concerns have been raised. Namely, this footage was taken at the University Avenue bridge on the Chena River… In Alaska.

What Nessie is doing over there in this chilly weather, I don’t know, and don’t get me started on how the creature managed to escape her naturally-formed Loch-prison in the Scottish highlands.

The videographer, Bureau of Land Management Fairbanks District Office Public Affairs Specialist Craig McCaa said:

I initially thought, and several people thought, it could be some rope that snagged on the bottom of the river with chunks of ice.

Other people have mentioned everything from sea monster to giant sturgeon.

Nessie or not Nessie? Either way, I’m questioning whether this is really necessary at all.
