John Wick is back – again – and he’s bringing Winston and the Bowery King with him.
Will the poor fellow ever get to live a relaxing life in retirement?
John Wick fans have been teased for a while about the upcoming feature John Wick: Chapter 3 – also known as John Wick: Parabellum, and a new image of the movie shows the return of two old faces.
Laurence Fishburne and Ian McShane are set to come back to the action-filled world of John Wick, reprising their characters Bowery King and Winston.
Winston has been popping up in Wick’s life since the start of the franchise, as the owner of the Continental Hotel – a neutral place for hired killers.
The hotel owner has helped Wick avoid some sticky situations in the past, one of which was his assumed imminent death after breaking the rules of the Continental and murdering someone on the grounds.
Instead of killing him for his actions, Winston told Wick at the end of Chapter 2 that he had one hour to escape. Presumably, this is where Parabellum will pick up.
Despite letting him get away, the announcement of Winston’s return hints that he might have had a change of heart about his feelings towards the hitman.
The official Twitter page for the movie tweeted a picture of Laurence Fishburne and Ian McShane as Winston and the Bowery King, with the caption ‘Old friends. New enemies.’

The Bowery King only arrived on to the scene in the second Chapter 2, where he was introduced as the leader of a whole assassin faction.
Wick and the Bowery King became allies, but similarly to Winston, the announcement of his return implies that Wick’s friendship with Bowery is up.
Probably not the best turn of events to take place for Wick, but it will certainly make for some entertaining viewing for us as we watch the story unfold.
John Wick: Parabellum will also see some new characters join in the action.
A couple of months ago, it was announced that Halle Berry will be playing the part of Sofia, who is described as ‘a woman on a mission’.

Speaking to ComingSoon, Keanu Reeves, aka John Wick, gave some insight into Halle’s character.
He said:
[Wick] is fighting for his life and thinks that Halle Berry’s character has some information for him. They have a past, and they get involved with The High Table, this kind of overlording entity.
While the previous two instalments have definitely had their fair share of killing scenes – this is a franchise about an assassin, after all – Chapter 3 sounds like it will be taking the conflicts to a whole new level.

Reeves has explained that ‘parabellum’ means ‘prepare for war’ – essentially meaning the title of the upcoming feature is ‘John Wick: Prepare For War‘.
It sounds like Wick will have a lot more enemies to face than just the Bowery King and Winston.
John Wick: Parabellum will be released in the US on May 16, 2019 and the UK on May 17.
