Adult Swim Games has announced that a new Rick and Morty game is in development – a virtual reality game, no less.
The wonderfully titled Rick and Morty Simulator: Virtual Rick-ality is in development for the HTC Vive at Owlchemy Labs, the studio behind the surreal VR title, Job Simulator.
For those that might not know, Rick and Morty is an Adult Swim cartoon series that follows scientist Rick and his grandson Morty on a series of disturbingly grim (but very funny) sci-fi inspired misadventures.
Given that the first trailer is only about 10 seconds long, it’s unclear what exactly we’ll be doing in this game. From the brief glimpse we get, a pair of hands fiddles with a Plumbus (look it up) while Rick and Morty discuss VR.
Maybe you should just check it out for yourself below, as it kind of defies explanation.
The YouTube description doesn’t really help either:
Thrust your hands and eyeballs into Rick’s garage with Rick and Morty: Virtual Rick-ality. Touch things! Fondle things! Make horrible mistakes with dire consequences! The future is truly here (and it is deeply unsettling).
There’s no release date yet, but series co-creator and voice actor Justin Roiland tweeted that there’ll be a playable demo at San Diego Comic-Con.

The last Rick and Morty game was a brilliantly shameless Pokemon ripoff called Pocket Mortys.
It’s free to play on mobile and I urge any fans of the series to check it out while we wait for this new VR adventure.
