After eight seasons of on again off again romance, Leonard and Penny are set to finally tie the knot on The Big Bang Theory.
And new set photos released this week show that the unlikely couple do actually make it down the aisle, despite Leonard’s revelation in the season eight finale that he’d kissed another woman.
Showrunner Steve Molaro dispelled any doubts about the two characters’ nuptials, telling TV Line that the couple will definitely be going through with the ceremony.
And the cast are pretty excited about the whole thing, judging by an Instagram post from Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting (Penny) showing her and Johnny Galecki (Leonard) in their wedding outfits.
The video teaser also reveals that the wedding will be a funny affair, as Leonard and Penny elope to Las Vegas.
Of course, this being a sitcom, the ceremony is only the beginning and there’ll be a few more roadblocks along the way.
Molaro added:
[The wedding is] really only the beginning of the story. As fun and as great as it is to see them get married, that’s only part of it.
But there’s no word yet on whether Sheldon and Amy are set to reunite in the ninth season of the smash-hit sitcom, which is due to premier on September 21.
