If you weren’t already sickeningly excited for the next season of The Walking Dead, you will be after this.

A first look at the season 7 premiere was debuted at the panel discussion at New York Comic-Con yesterday, reports Complex.

And from the looks of it, things are about to get a whole lot worse for Rick and his crew.

The three minute clip picks up from the season 6 finale which saw Negan go to town on an as yet unknown character with his weapon of choice ‘Lucille’.

Obviously we still don’t get to see who was on the business end of Lucille – that would sort of ruin things – but we do get to see some epic dialogue.

Still kneeling, Rick says:

I’m going to kill you. Not today, not tomorrow, but I’m gonna kill you.

Obviously not too keen on the idea, Negan starts talking about how important a ‘right hand man’ is, then requests a hatchet before dragging Rick off to the RV – ominously hinting that he could be about to lose a vital appendage…

There’s not a whole lot to go off – Rick is alive – which we knew – from the dialogue in the last episode we know Carl is alive, but as for the rest of them, who knows.

If you’ve read the comics you know who gets it at this point, but the writers have often steered clear of the original narrative, so we’ll just have to wait and see how this one plays out.

The season 7 premiere of The Walking Dead  is out on October 23rd on AMC and I can’t bloody wait.
