A former NFL star is said to have beaten a man he allegedly caught masturbating outside his 15-year-old daughter’s bedroom window.
Tony Beckham, a former Tennessee Titans cornerback, was getting ready to go to work on Monday morning (January 14), when the incident happened.
As he left his home, he heard the bushes outside his daughter’s bedroom rustling, and alleges to have seen an older man ‘touching himself’.
As reported by TMZ, the man was allegedly hiding in the bushes when Beckham saw him and shouted out, to ask him what he was doing.
At this point, the man ran off, with police reportedly saying he managed to get about 50 feet away from the house before Beckham caught him.
The former NFL player wasn’t letting him get away that easily, with TMZ reporting Beckham ‘smashed the guy up bad’ – ‘breaking his face in a couple of different places’.
You can watch his version of events below, as reported by TMZ Sports:
In the video, Beckham mentions how he saw the man ‘crouching down’ while touching himself, in an attempt to get a better view of his teenage daughter.
He said:
I say ‘hey, what’re you doing?’ And he see me and I startled him, so he took off running. He didn’t get that far doing that and I caught him in a neighbour’s yard, and we had a nice little conversation for 20 minutes y’know
As reported by the Miami Herald, Beckham’s daughter had just got out of the shower, and was getting dressed when Beckham caught the man masturbating.
Police arrested a 48-year-old, Geoffrey Cassidy, and booked him for lewd or lascivious exhibition in the presence of a child.
When asked how angry the incident made him, Beckham responded:
Oh man, like I said, I couldn’t remember his face… I couldn’t tell you what he looked like, so that’s how mad I was. I blacked out.
Beckham then had a message for Cassidy, warning him not to mess with his daughter, or any other girl in the community.
He said:
Don’t mess with none of the Beckham’s, don’t mess with none of our girls in our community… It’s not cool and it’s not a good look for you man.
You’re a 48-year-old man and you gotta find something other to do. There’s other things you can get off – you can use the internet, you can use a lot of things to get yourself off, but not looking into another man’s window at his child.
If convicted, Cassidy faces up to 15 years in prison. He’s still being held in Palm Beach County Jail on a $1,500 bond.
