North Korea have threatened the UK with ‘a miserable end’ if its armed forces join American and South Korean military exercises.
PAUK and Australian armed forces are helping 70,000 American and South Korean troops prepare for a potential nuclear strike.
On Wednesday a Korean Central News Agency, the mouthpiece of North Korea, issued an ominous warning to the UK.
According to the Mirror, the statement said:
We solemnly warn not only the US and the puppet group, but also satellites – including the UK and Australia, which are taking advantage of the present war manoeuvres against the North, that they would face a miserable end if they join in.
PAEarlier this week, in another statement, North Korea labelled British soldiers ‘mercenaries’ for taking part and denounced the ‘US imperialists and South Korean war maniacs’.
It read:
They kicked off the war rehearsal under the pretext of resolutely ‘countering’ the ‘provocation by the north’.
This is aimed to ignite a nuclear war on the Korean peninsula at any cost.
North Korea believe the US and South Korea are jointly planning a preemptive nuclear strike.
GettySouth Korea and the US have been carrying out joint drills – which are said to last until the end of the month – and will involve computer simulations which are designed to help them prepare for war with a nuclear-capable North Korea.
North Korea have called these drills ‘a deceptive mask’ despite the US saying they are ‘defensive in nature’.
China – North Korea’s main ally – and Russia, have both urged the US and South Korea to drop the drills and exercises saying all need to make an effort to ease tensions.
