Barack Obama is an enigma.
To the outside world he is a tragic hero. He tried to change America for good, but congress was not having any of it. He tried to change the world yet in his own country he was met with an undeniable hatred.
Love him or loathe him, one thing that I don’t think any of us can deny, is that Obama is one cool motherfucker and in this speech, one of his final speeches before the USA chooses its next dictator of their country’s fate, his cool and inspirational existence is only proved yet again.
Appearing in New Hampshire, Obama recollects about his campaign back in 2008 when he was the outsider.
To put it short Obama speaks about how hard campaigning really is – he speaks of the rain falling in Greenwood as his umbrella breaks and he ends up soaking wet, drowned in rain before the 90 minute drive to Greenwood.
Eventually the drenched Obama gets to Greenwood and stands on the stage. Tired, disillusioned, and ultimately just fed up – a woman at the back of the room screams ‘fire up’, and the rest of the ground replies ‘ready to go!’.
Obama explains:
She’s got a big church hat and I think a gold tooth. Turns out she holds a position in the local NAACP office and is also a private detective
Apparently she is known wherever she goes by saying this chant and everybody knows her so they know that when she says ‘fired up’, they say ‘fired up’ and when she says ‘ready to go’, everybody has got to say ‘ready to go’.
But the interesting thing is – after a while I am starting to get kind of ‘fired up’; I’m starting to feel like I’m ‘ready to go’.
One voice can change a room.
And if it can change a room, it can change a city. If it can change a city, it can change a state. If it can change a state, it can change a nation. If it can change a nation, it can change the world.
So I just have one question for you New Hampshire – are you fired up? Ready to go? Fired up? Ready to go? Lets go finish what we started. Let’s elect Hillary Clinton.
My final thought is that as America decides between Clinton and Trump: a man who thinks it’s okay to grab women ‘by the pussy’, refuses to publish his tax returns, and is considering banning an entire religion from America; and a woman who has been investigated by the FBI on numerous occasions, lies prolifically, and wants elections, outside of the U.S., to be rigged – I can only wish that Obama would be granted a third impossible term.
