The plight of refugees from Syria have dominated the headlines recently, with the picture of a dead child, face down on the beach, causing shockwaves around the world.
Amidst so much heartache and pain for the people of Syria, who are fleeing for their lives, one heart-warming story has captured the imagination of the press and internet.
A picture of a family who had taken their kitten with them when fleeing quickly went viral.

The cat, named Zaytouna, which is Syrian for Olive in case you were wondering, predictably took social media by storm.
People praised the family, who plan to travel further north, after their safe arrival in Greece, with many people petting the cat, who was still in the sling used on the journey.
