It is thought that Abdeslam may have fled the raid on Tuesday, similarly to how he escaped undetected in the aftermath of the attacks on November 13 which left 130 dead.
Abdeslam lived in the notorious Belgian district of Molenbeek before the atrocities in Paris, which became infamous following the terrorist attack.
