Parisian police and investigators believe the Kim Kardashian robbery to be an inside job, apparently.
As the investigation into the incident commences, conspiracies have emerged and fingers have been pointed, while both the police and the Kardashian family think the events of Monday morning are suspicious.
In case you missed it, Kim Kardashian was tied up and held at gunpoint while a crew of five armed men burgled her hotel room in Paris’s 8th arrondissement early on Monday morning.
A source involved in the investigation told TMZ that police believe the robbers must have received a tip-off alerting them to a brief window when Kim was alone and vulnerable in the apartment.
Kim’s bouncer happened to be protecting her sisters, Kourtney and Kendall, in a nearby nightclub for just a few hours when the criminals struck.
They held the concierge at gunpoint, lead him to Kim’s suite where they allegedly stole $9m worth of jewellery, and proceeded to escort the concierge back downstairs before making a speedy exit from the scene.
A source close to the family has told TMZ that the Kardashians ‘don’t believe it was a coincidence that Kim was bodyguard-less at the time the robbers showed up’ and are ‘convinced someone tipped off the robbers to strike at precisely the moment they could get in and out without detection’.
Kim has taken to her social media to announce that she doesn’t blame her bodyguard, Pascal Duvier, for the terrifying incident.
TMZ reports a long list of suspects. Kim was in Paris attending the prestigious Fashion Week and many people close to her and the family knew their movements and schedules.
The Kardashian family is used to people talking about them, but in the aftermath of this traumatic incident some people have resorted to blaming and shaming the victim, Kim, such is the cruel and unforgiving world of showbiz.
Meanwhile, police are working hard to get to the bottom of the case and are in the process of checking phone records of various people around the building to track suspicious activity.
Let’s hope the individuals who committed this violent crime are identified and bought to justice.
