Paul Bettany is temporarily swapping the MCU for destinations a little further from Earth, joining the upcoming untitled Han Solo movie.
This will be the third time director Ron Howard and Paul Bettany have worked together after previously collaborating on A Beautiful Mind and The Da Vinci Code.
Ron confirmed his addition on twitter.

The tweet, containing a picture of the two along with the caption ‘The Outer Rim just got a little bit wilder’, sent fans crazy prompting intrigue into what Bettany’s involvement will be.
It is still unclear what role he’ll play but with Michael K. Williams unable to return for reshoots due to scheduling, it’s not too much of a leap to guess that he’ll replace Williams in his role as a half-human, half-animal creature.
The film is under going extensive reshoots with Ron Howard in the pilot seat to move the film off the comedic path that original directors Lord and Miller started it out on.
The movie is set to follow the adventures of a young Han Solo and Chewbacca who’ll eventually meet Obi-Wan and Luke Skywalker in Star Wars: A New Hope.
Confirmed cast include Emilia Clarke, Woody Harrelson, Alden Ehrenreich, Donald Glover and Thandie Newton, the film is on target for arrival in UK cinemas May 25 2018.
Will you join Han on his journey to Mos Eisley Cantina?
