The brother of late actor Paul Walker gained huge plaudits for his performance in Furious 7, and has now been given a supporting role in the upcoming USS Indianapolis: Men Of Courage.
Directed by Mario Peebles and starring alongside Nic Cage, Cody Walker will have a major supporting role in the story based on real events. The USS Indianapolis was a heavy cruiser carrying parts of the first atom bomb when it was torpedoed by the Japanese and sank in minutes. Of the 1,196 men aboard, only 317 survived after spending 5 days in the water staving of starvation, exhaustion and shark attacks.
It has been confirmed that Cage will play Captain Charles McVay, but there is no news on who Walker will portray. All we know is that he will play a sailor struggling for survival alongside his fellow shipmates. The film will also feature performances from Tom Sizemore, Thomas Jane, Matt Lanter and Brian Presley. USS Indianapolis: Men Of Courage is set for release in 2016 over the memorial day weekend, which will be 27th-29th of May.
