Following the horrific Paris attacks last night, we saw the best and worst of humanity on social media.
While there were those ignorantly running down Muslims and quickly blaming the entire Islam faith and tarring all followers of the religion with the same brush, others were quick to fight back against the hate.
In the wake of the attacks, a brilliant hashtag has been born on social media seeking to counter the vile anti-Muslim sentiment some are indulging in.
The hashtag #TerrorismHasNoReligion began to trend on Saturday morning as people aimed to counter the bigots…
Most of those killed by ISIS and most of those fighting ISIS are Muslims. Remember that when you collectively blame Muslims for ISIS' terror

#TerrorismHasNoReligion this is so important. There is no religion which suggests these atrocities are okay – they use religion as a mask.

If some of you are filled with so much hatred towards a religion.. Doesnt that make you have something in common with Extremists then? :)
— ʙᴇᴛᴛʏ ? (@nyumeria) November 14, 2015
Of course, not everyone agreed with the sentiment…
Terrorism most certainly DOES have a religion. It's ISLAM. Get ready. #TerrorismHasNoReligion

In the end, this guy summed things up pretty perfectly:
'Them ones where 1 or 2 kids misbehaved in class, so the entire class had to stay behind at break. That's how Muslims feel right now'

Between 100 and 150 people were killed in Paris last night in six coordinated terrorist attacks across the city.
