People are petitioning for Ariana Grande to be granted the Freedom of Manchester following last night’s One Love concert in aid of the 22 lost in last month’s attack at Manchester Arena.

The 23-year-old singer had flown back to America after the suicide bomb blast that went off as fans left her show on May 22nd.

She tweeted at the time that she was ‘broken’ and had ‘no words’ to describe the attack but later promised to return to the city in solidarity with the people.

The details of the One Love Manchester concert were amazingly organised just last Wednesday but managed to bring together 50,000 plus people in front of an A-list line-up that included Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber, Coldplay and Liam Gallagher.

Ariana Grande had previously visited injured fans at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.

A petition has now been set up to commend Grande’s efforts.

The man behind the call, Matthew Duggan, said:

Ariana Grande has inspired people up and down the country with her selfless acts of kindness.

She didn’t need to return to Manchester but tonight she did and brought the nation to teares and for that I feel she should be granted Freedom of the City of Manchester.

The concert managed to raise a whopping £2 million for the families of the victims.
