Petition To Block Donald Trump From UK Entry Gains Traction

By :

Last week we mentioned Suzanne Kelly in an article and the launch of her petition to block Donald Trump from entering the U.K. The petition is no longer pending, it’s LIVE, and it is rapidly gaining traction.

Miss Kelly is from Aberdeen and previously started a petition against Trump in 2013 to prevent him butchering the environment to build “the greatest golf course in the world.”

She is back this time because she believes Trump’s latest speeches and views have entered the zone of hate speech.

The petition succinctly and bluntly states:

“If the United Kingdom is to continue applying the ‘unacceptable behaviour’ criteria to those who wish to enter its borders, it must be fairly applied to the rich as well as poor, and the weak as well as powerful.”

It has gained 27,000+ signatures FAST.

You can click through, have a look at it, and add your own signature if you like by going right here.

That link again is right here. A click away.

Not to force it down your throat but in case you missed it, and you want to join the petition, if you click here you will be taken to the petition.

If it reaches 100,000 signatures it will be considered for debate in Parliament.

It’s probable that Miss Kelly’s efforts have gathered a few extra signatures in the last 24 hours after Trump’s call to ban Muslims from the U.S.A.

“Donald J. Trump is calling for a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States until our country’s representatives can figure out what is going on,” he said while campaigning on Monday.

Folks are now starting to see some fascist similarities…

It’s scary how talking in broad generalisations as if you’re “telling it like it is” can still appeal to people in this age.

Trump’s comments and perspectives often seem hyperbolic, brash, and deliberately divisive, so it will be interesting to see – if this petition gets to parliament – if such an approach to language will be depicted as a veneer that does in fact cloak hate speech.
