Pictures Of Wolf Pups Reveal First Pack In California For Nearly A Century

A grey wolf pack has been spotted in North California, making them the first pack to settle in California for 100 years.

There are seven wolves, two adult black-furred gray wolves and five 4-month-old pups.

They’ve been named the Shasta pack, after the mountains near by, and have managed to establish themselves in the area only 21 years after the wolves were re-introduced in the Northern Rockies.

The animals are protected by federal laws and also state endangered species acts.

California’s last known native wolf was killed in 1924 in neighbouring Lassen County, making it all the more amazing that a pack have been spotted.
