Piers Morgan Got In Fiery TV Debate Over The Celebrity Threesome Injunction

Earlier today, the country’s least popular television personality and journalist, Piers Morgan, co-hosted Good Morning Britain and ended up having a right old Barney over injunctions.

While discussing the infamous celebrity threesome injunction, Morgan was joined by the chief executive of the press regulation activist group Hacked Off, Dr Evan Harris, and sparks flew between the pair over the ‘absurdity’ of the media being unable to name those involved, The Huffington Post reports.

Things got very heated with Piers calling former Lib Dem MP Harris a ‘ridiculous little man’ and branding him a hypocrite for wanting to expose the couple.

Morgan challenged Harris over whether he would actually be in trouble if he tweeted the names of the couple involved in the threesome, which an injunction has banned the English and Welsh (but not Scottish) media from reporting on.

The ex-Britain’s Got Talent judge told the former MP that the injunction was ‘almost futile’ because everyone already knows who the couple are thanks to Twitter and the Internet.

Piers moaned that it was absurd that there was a ‘serious risk’ someone could go to prison if he tweeted the secret saying: “If I was to tweet now to my 4.9 million followers the names of these people, you’re saying I wouldn’t be in trouble?”

Harris, however, disagreed, claiming that few people have as many Twitter followers as Morgan, and therefore wouldn’t ‘go to prison over Piers Morgan’, although he did add ‘I wish they would’.

Even better than that, the former MP launched a red-haired nuke at poor Piers telling him that Rebekah Brooks used these privacy laws to suppress knowledge of her affair with Andy Coulson, leaving Morgan pretty flabbergasted.

Piers managed to regroup though, and wasn’t going to give Harris the last world, adding that Harris was using the show to promote his personal agenda, despite spending the last two weeks trying to expose the affair of John Whittingdale.

In the end, Morgan’s co-host Susanna Reid was forced to step in and break up the fight between the bickering pair after Piers branded Harris a hypocrite for changing his views on what should and shouldn’t be published.

He said:

You’re sitting here wanting to defend this couple involved in this injunction. People are entitled to think that you are a serious hypocrite.

Harris fought back claiming that Morgan had made ‘a serious accusation there’ and explained that the celebrity threesome injunction couple should be entitled to privacy.

After Susanne Reid managed to force the pair apart the fight didn’t end it just moved online and the pair have been sparring online since.

Piers, of course, fired first…

Going so far as to ‘almost’ threaten to belt him…

Harris didn’t back down though…

But neither did Piers…

Things soon escalated further…
