Many people affected by the hurricane are still trapped in their homes and are reeling from the effects of the devastating storm.

The regional manager of the restaurant, Shayda Habib, felt compelled to do something to help the devastated community and decided to deliver victims some much needed pizza.

Habib told KPRC:

When I heard there were families in need, I knew we needed to act fast. I called my husband and asked him to gather up kayaks and meet me at the restaurant.

Assembling together a crew of employees, the team got to work making 120 pizzas and delivered them to hungry families by paddling to houses with the kayaks.

Habib told KCRA:

The people in the houses didn’t expect us to come. It was so nice to see their smiles after so much gloom.

She also also vowed to continue to deliver more pizza until her store runs out of food.
