One guy’s quest for the ‘perfect look’ seems to have pretty seriously backfired after he was admitted to hospital with a ‘rotting nose’.

Brazilian airline steward Rodrigo Alves, who has dedicated his life to transforming himself into a Ken doll through plastic surgery, was admitted to hospital after his new nose started to rot on his face, reports 9News.

The 32-year-old, who suffers from body dysmorphic disorder, has spent over $400,000 (£282,000) on surgery and has admitted he is ‘deeply unhappy’ with his looks.

He has now been diagnosed with necrosis as his flesh is apparently unable to withstand his 42 cosmetic operations.

He is being treated for the condition in Spain, after he noticed a hole appearing on his nose, but according to the Daily Mail, doctors fear Rodrigo’s face is at risk of becoming gangrenous if the necrosis is allowed to spread.

He told the Daily Mail:

I had nose reconstruction three months ago and it appears the new cartilage has been rejected by my body.

A horrible hole has appeared in my nostril and the infection is eating my nose and I’ve been warned if it is not stopped it could eat into my face.

Necrosis is actually a relatively common hazard of plastic surgery, caused when the blood supply to parts of the body is interrupted.

Alves, who has admitted to being ‘deeply unhappy’ with his looks, has undergone dozens of surgeries over more than a decade at a cost of about $400,000 (£282,000).

We wish him the best for a speedy recovery.
