In a shock development, police have now dramatically altered the timeline of events in the Las Vegas shootings.
Police have now rolled back on their previous statements surrounding the security guard who was shot by Stephen Paddock through the door of his hotel room on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel.
Previous reports had stated the 64-year-old, who killed 58 people and injured hundreds more, had shot security guard Jesus Campos after having already opened fire on the Route 91 country music festival.
Their latest statement however, disputes that earlier claim, now stating the guard was hit before Paddock began firing on the festival goers.
Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo initially said Mr Campos was shot after Paddock killed 58 and injured more than 480 and that officers came across a wounded Campos at 10.18pm.
But Sheriff Lombardo has now readjusted the timeline to report the guard was shot at 9.59pm.
The Sheriff said during a press conference on Monday:
Mr. Campos was encountered by the suspect prior to his shooting to the outside world.
This throws into doubt what was first thought – that Campos tried to confront Paddock after hearing bullets rain down on festival goers and that he was then shot before finally killing himself, believing he was ‘compromised’.
However, it now appears this cannot be the case as police continue their investigations in the hope of finding a motive for the killings.
Ever since the attack we have been learning more and more about Paddock, and last week family friend Adam Le Fevre made some startling allegations.
Australian businessman Le Fevre dated the sister of Marilou Danley, Paddock’s girlfriend, and once visited Las Vegas with the gunman.
He told A Current Affair:
It is a very chilling thought to know that the person that is at the centre of the world’s largest story at the moment was somebody that I knew, somebody that I was welcomed into their home, into their family, into their life.
I would say I liked Stephen Paddock at the time. From what I saw I had no reason not to like him.

However, Le Fevre also said Paddock admitted the perks of being a ‘high roller’ extended to free call girls.
Referring to the offers Paddock received from casinos, Le Fevre said:
I did have no questions that some of those offers had been accepted, yes.
When asked to describe Paddock’s relationship with his girlfriend Marilou, Le Fevre sighed and said:
The relationship is not what I saw as a loving, caring relationship.
I experienced Steve talking to Marilou in an abrupt manner and away from them I had questions whether everything was smooth sailing.
Marilou who was a lovely girl, seemed very nervous and jittery around Steve. He would talk in a condescending way.

Finally, Le Fevre also revealed that Paddock was a strong defender of the second amendment, the right to own a gun.
He added:
His home was a modest, new, two-bedroom house. But as we walked through that small area Steve said ‘bedroom, lounge room, gun room’.
He said: “Well you know, most people in the US have firearms and they need to be protected and of course you don’t want firearms falling into the hands of the wrong people.”
He was very strict and very firm that it was a right, a capacity and it was the freedom of every American to own a gun and use it as seen fit and that law should never be changed.
A keen shooter, Paddock showed off his gun collection but Le Fevre did not notice any of the weapons used in the deadly massacre.
